From Deed Book "X" p 64 - Sale of 306 Caroline St:

St George Rose FitzHugh handled the sale of GHC Rowe's house on 306 Main St, now Caroline. Arthur H H Bernard purchased the Dwelling house and lot for $3,000.

"The property commenced at the intersection of Frederick and Main (Caroline) running thence with Maine Street southward, 165 feet, more or less, - thence at right angles with Main St westerly 125 feet, more or less, thence at right angles northward 165 feet, more or less, thence with Frederick Street to the beginning.

"Being the same property conveyed to G H C Rowe by Jno M Forbes and wife by deed bearing date of the 26th Oct 1853 of record in the Corporation of Fredericksburg to which reference is hereby given for full description of the said real estate"
